Elder Rene Franken
Rene is one of four brothers. He is a native San Diegan. He graduated from Hoover High, then went on to graduate from San Diego State and National University. Rene served in the United States Air force from 1967 to 1971. He is all about God and Country. After serving his country, he worked as the Chief Accountant for the City of Chula Vista for fourteen years before coming to the City of Santee serving another fourteen years as the Director of Finance. He first came to Sonrise Community church in April 2001 and soon after became a member. He was blessed in February, 2004 when asked to be a Deacon servicing the Church. Later in October, 2007 he joined the Elder team, an office he truly feels is a blessing. With his background in accounting and finance he provides assistance to Sonrise Community Church in budget and finance. He prepares detailed quarterly financial reports to assist in the ongoing operation of the Church. His desire is to serve the Lord and His church with the gifts the Lord has blessed him with. He has discovered his real passion to teach. It really is more of a time to share and fellowship with other believers. He taught Contagious Christianity, the Bethel Series and currently, New Life in Christ. This experience allows him to grow more closely to Jesus, his savior. He has been married to Sherry, his wife, since July 18, 1965. They have a son Don and a daughter Lorissa. He currently is blessed with five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
