In this time of sky rocketing gas and electric prices, the Lord has presented a golden opportunity to Sonrise. By converting to solar energy, we can totally eliminate our electric bill and immediately save approximately $10,000 per month in electricity costs. It gets better, over the next five years Sonrise will receive $600,000 in "energy rebates" from the California Center for Sustainable Energy.
We've prayed diligently, laid the necessary groundwork, and have been good stewards of the resources God has entrusted to us... now it's time for the project to get underway!
Jesus said, "seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." (Matthew 6:33) As we put God first with our lives, our families, our finances, and all we do, God promises that we will lack for nothing. In I Chronicles 29, King David called for offerings for the building of the Temple. After the people gave of their gold, talents, and silver, verse 9 says, "Then the people rejoiced, for they had offered willingly, because with a loyal heart they had offered willingly to the Lord; and King David also rejoiced greatly." Our giving today builds the Lord's house. There is much joy knowing that our gifts are going to accomplish great things for God's glory. We give joyfully, knowing that "God loves a cheerful giver." (II Corinthians 9:7)
